In 1989, Lourens Kriel father of MD, Johan Kriel came home with a braai tong and decided there and then that he can produce one at half the price. Lourens and Johan jumped to work the next day, where they manufactured the tooling first and then their own tong and tested it the same evening. Not long after that Johan convinced Lourens to produce more tongs which they started selling. They used the money that they made from the sell to buy more aluminium.

Now we dedicate our time and expertise to designing an innovative product range  that is practical, effective, and enhances every braai, creating the ultimate social experience with friends and family. It’s about entertaining, laughing, celebrating, and enjoying life.
